New Resource: Seeing How the Old Testament is Used in the New

Over at the resources page (and in this post, too) I’m posting two Excel documents which can be a help in your study of the Old Testament. They both list every time the New Testament writers quote the Old Testament writings (along with some possible allusions). This is especially helpful if you’re studying an Old Testament book. A great thing to do is to check the list (the one organized by OT books) and see how the book you’re studying is quoted in the New Testament. How did the first followers of Christ see this book attesting to the Lord Jesus?

The first believers had only the Old Testament to read, and it was a powerful witness of the Lord Jesus for them.  We can start to see how that worked for them, and how the Spirit opened the Old Testament scriptures for them, in how they quote the writings from before Christ. Here’s the documents:
