Theology Thursday

I just started reading The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs. It’s a study on how to experience what Paul speaks of in Philippians 4:11 (“I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content”).

So here’s a quote from him, and a question, for today.

The quote: “A little in the world will content a Christian for his passage, but all the world, and ten thousand times more, will not content a Christian for his portion.”

The question: What, do you think, are the two most important words in that quote, and what do they teach us about how to find true contentment?
